How It's Packed
We treat every box like a cold-chain perishable shipment — because that's what it is. Here's exactly what leaves our facility and what arrives at your door.
Live lobsters are selected
Each lobster is individually inspected — weight-checked, band-checked, and visually confirmed alive and healthy. We only ship hard-shell lobsters in prime condition.
Insulated shipper is prepared
We start with a corrugated outer carton rated for perishable freight. Inside is a custom-fit EPS foam insert sized to minimize dimensional weight while keeping the lobsters secure.
Gel packs and damp packing
Gel refrigerant packs go in first, then damp seaweed or packing material to maintain humidity and keep the lobsters calm during transit. An absorbent liner protects the carton integrity.
Lobsters are loaded
Lobsters go in snug but not stacked. We position them to minimize movement during the overnight ride. Cook instructions are tucked in with every order.
Sealed and labeled
The carton is sealed, labeled with your UPS Next Day Air tracking label, and marked "LIVE ANIMALS" on opposing sides as required. It goes straight to the UPS tender.
UPS delivers by 10:30am
Your order is in transit overnight and delivered to your door the next morning. You receive tracking by email as soon as we hand it off.
